Lab Facilities

The Department houses a well-equipped Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (AI Lab) and a Multimedia Lab fully networked. Each node has a direct connection with the Red Hat Linux and Windows 2000 Servers. The Windows 2000 Server is hooked up to the UOHYD Domain Server in the Computer Center in order to enable the configured nodes to get telnet, ftp and internet facilities. The Department has several advanced labs set up for specialized study in topics of interest of the faculty such as:

  •  Students can access Super Computer (PARAM) round the clock located at the CMSD. CMSD is a 15.0 Teraflop. 6 SMP Systems with total of 192 CPUs @ 2.3 GHz, 512 GBytes of main memory and 4 TBytes of storage.

  •  More than 80 Pentium 4 systems with latest software packages in Labs for students and faculty.

  •  Expert System software such as Rule Master, MATLAB, Vidwan. Shell and Turbo Analyst CASE Tool, 3D Studio Max and Dragon Speech.

  •  Quad core, Dual Xeon processor servers, configured as a cluster with 64 CPUs. Sun Microsystems, Dual Opteron server with integrated thin clients.

  •  Recent peripherals like HP Scan jet 4890, Samsung color laser printer CLP 510. Numerous LCD projectors from Sony, Panasonic etc. Round the clock Internet facility.
